TweetDeck For Mac Updated With New Docked Panel, Inline Reply And Other Features
October 16, 2013
TweetDeck, Twitter's official social media dashboard app for power users, has just received a major update for its Mac edition.
The latest update to TweetDeck for Mac makes it easier to tweet with the new panel docked to the sidebar on the left. This new panel can be opened from the New Tweet button or by replying to a tweet. Alternatively, you can opt to keep it open all the time.
TweetDeck for Mac also lets you reply to tweets more easily and quickly using inline reply. Now, you no longer have to copy all of the usernames you need to mention and paste them all in a new tweet. Rather, you can now simply click Reply on each tweet to bring in all of the usernames in your reply.
In addition, TweetDeck for Mac now support autocomplete or, as Twitter likes to call it, "typeahead" suggestions for usernames and hashtags:
When you type a partial @username TweetDeck attempts to find matching usernames but until now this would only search for recently accessed usernames. With this update, we search across all Twitter usernames, whether you recently accessed them or not. However, usernames of people you follow will appear immediately and at the top, while other matching usernames will appear below. This feature is also available for hashtags - as you start typing a hashtag TweetDeck will start suggesting matching hashtags. Finally, the new TweetDeck for Mac update lets you preview images in the New Tweet panel right before sharing them. The new version of TweetDeck for Mac is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with OS X 10.6 or later. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
