Gameloft's Asphalt 8: Airborne Goes Free-To-Play As It Gets Its First Content Update

Gameloft has just released the first ever content update to Asphalt 8: Airborne. At the same time, it has made a U-turn on the popular racing game's pricing.
Asphalt 8: Airborne was launched on iOS last August with a download price of $0.99. It was then made available for free for a limited time only in mid-September. And in mid-October, it was offered as the Free App of the Week in the App Store.
But now, Asphalt 8: Airborne has been made free for life, as Gameloft has switched the game's pricing from premium to freemium.
As mentioned, Gameloft has also issued the first content update to Asphalt 8: Airborne.
The biggest highlight of the update is the addition of Clio R.S., the latest sports model to come out of the Renault stable. What's more, the update lets you compete in the limited-edition Clio R.S. Cup, which is set to reward the winner with a real Clio R.S.
Gameloft also teases the arrival of new cars "at any moment," so make sure to check often as you play.

The latest update to Asphalt 8: Airborne also lets you win credits, upgrades, and exclusive cars in other limited-time cups. And in the multiplayer world series, it lets you race in seven new reverse tracks, see how your opponents' ratings change after every race, and create matches more quickly. Furthermore, it introduces the new Tuning Kit, Nitro, and Double Credits boosts.
The new version of Asphalt 8: Airborne also features the ability to rearrange the touch controls in whatever way. In addition, it introduces "Apple gamepad support," which presumably refers to future integration with iOS 7 game controllers.
Asphalt 8: Airborne is available now in the App Store as a free-to-play title. The game is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later.
