Autodesk's 123D Creature Show Photo-Editing App Goes Universal For iPad
December 21, 2013
Autodesk has just unleashed the universal update to its 123D Creature Show app for iOS.
A companion app of sorts to Autodesk's 123D Creature character creation app for iPad, 123D Creature Show lets you customize your photos with different posable 3-D creatures. These creatures include stylized depictions of animals, monsters, fairies, and zombies.
Released a couple of months ago as an app optimized for iPhone and iPod touch only, 123D Creature Show has just been made universal and natively compatible with iPad and iPad mini as well.
Note that 123D Creature Show is optimized for iPhone 5s, iPad Air, and iPad mini with Retina display:
Utilizing a multithreaded, 64 bit architecture 123D Creature Show harnesses the power of the A7 processor & GPU to perform complex posing and deformation calculations previously requiring a dedicated desktop workstation. In addition to universal support, the new 123D Creature Show update brings live background preview. Now, you can quickly preview how different images will look like when adding a background or viewing the live camera output in the background. In relation to this, the update also adds support for using the front-facing camera and for tapping to focus when taking background photos. Furthermore, the update adds the ability to frame your creature by double-tapping when posing. Also including performance enhancements and minor bug fixes, the new universal version of 123D Creature Show is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later. All of the creatures in 123D Creature Show are the creations of artist Adam Beamish, who made them using 123D Creature. Available for free and compatible with iPad, 123D Creature lets you build, paint and 3-D print your very own imagined creatures.
