Ecoute 2.0 Features iOS 7 Design Refresh Plus Improved Last.fm Song Scrobbling

December 16, 2013
Ecoute, the well-designed music player app for iPhone and iPod touch, has just been updated to version 2.0. Arriving three months after the release of iOS 7, Ecoute 2.0 unsurprisingly introduces a revamped interface based on the modern style of Apple's mobile operating system. As expected, the app's new design does away with its outdated look and feel, while maintaining the app's established structure. Ecoute 2.0 also supports offline Last.fm song scrobbling prior to iOS 7. Developer PixiApps explains:
Last.fm is a great service for sharing your music tastes to your friends or anyone in the world. We already integrated ‘now playing’ updates in the first version of Ecoute, and we tried to implement a simple scrobbler. With iOS 7, things are getting simpler! Ecoute is now able to scrobble your tracks in background and also sends now playing updates if needed. We also thought about our iOS 6 users, and we made Ecoute able to scrobble tracks when the app becomes active.
Ecoute 2.0 is available now in the App Store as a free update or as a new $2.99 download. It's optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later. According to PixiApps, a universal version of Ecoute that works with iPad as well as iPhone and iPod touch is already in the works. Released in August last year and subsequently given an AppAdvice App of the Week honorable mention, Ecoute received its first major update in September last year and its second major update just last April.
