Google News Mobile Web App Redesigned And Updated With New Features

December 7, 2013
Google has just announced the rollout of a revamped mobile Web app for its popular news aggregation service, Google News. The Google News mobile Web app has been redesigned for both iOS and Android with the following major enhancements:
  • Improved overall look-and-feel making it easier to read and track separate stories.
  • Ability to customize the webapp to suit your taste by changing the theme from light to dark, the font size and opting for a larger “story card” with more information per story at your fingertips (from the Settings menu, at top right).
  • Simplified navigation to any section within News; just click on the Google News icon (top left) to see a list of available sections (including any custom sections you created).
  • Easier integration with Google Feedback located in the menu at the top right.
In addition, the new design of the Google News mobile Web app includes several features from its desktop counterpart. There's the weather gadget in the Local section, and there's also the popular Editors' Picks option. And for better or worse, related posts from Google+ are also included in the mix. The revamped Google News mobile Web app is initially available in the U.S., and is set to launch in all of the service's international editions "soon." You can check it out by pointing your Safari or Chrome mobile browser to news.google.com.
