Google Says The iPhone 5s Was The Third Most Searched For Term In 2013

December 17, 2013
On the same day Apple unveiled the App Store’s best apps and games of 2013, Google is out with its own end of year list. The annual Year-End Zeitgeist (“spirit of the times”) looks at the top trending searches of 2013. Here's the Google video announcing this year's lists: http://youtu.be/Lv-sY_z8MNs At No. 3 this year on Google’s global top 10 is Apple’s iPhone 5s. The handset ranked ahead of Cory Monteith, but below Nelson Mandela, and Paul Walker. All three public figures died in the past few months. The rest of the top 10 include: No. 5 Harlem Shake, followed by the Boston Marathon, Royal Baby, Samsung Galaxy S IV, PlayStation 4, and North Korea. The iPhone 5s was No. 1 on Google’s list of the top trending phones of 2013. It finished ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S IV, iPhone 5c, HTC One, and Nexus 5. In the “Tech Gadget” category, the iPhone 5s actually ranks below the Samsung Galaxy S IV, which is somewhat strange given the previously mentioned poll. The iPhone 5s ranks No. 3 behind the PlayStation 4 and Samsung Galaxy S IV. For other Google trending lists for 2013, click here.
