Highlight App Goes 2.0: Highlights Include iOS 7 Design Refresh And Real-Time Updates

December 13, 2013
The popular proximity-based social networking app Highlight, which was launched a couple of years ago, has just gone 2.0 with its brand new update. Highlight 2.0 brings several significant new features and enhancements. Most noticeable, if not exactly most notable, among these is the app's new iOS 7-style interface, which, of course, features a simpler design yet maintains Highlight's Day One-ish color scheme. Above and beyond its new look and feel, Highlight 2.0 boasts real-time or live updates:
Highlight 2.0 gives you a 10,000 foot view of the world, with a live, 3D map of the people around you. See that your friend Steve is biking in the Presidio, that 2 of your coworkers are walking down 5th St. together, or that the girl across the room with headphones on is listening to the new Destroyer album. We figure it out automatically for you using the sensors in the phone. Crazy!
If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. The new version of Highlight also promises to be a much smarter iteration of the app as it serves up the most relevant people in your feed and shows only what's new with the people you meet. In addition, it promises considerably lower battery consumption. Highlight 2.0 is available now in the App Store for free. It's optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.1 or later.
