It's Here: The Long-Awaited iPad Version Of App In The Air Is No Longer Up In the Air

December 21, 2013
App in the Air, the cleverly named flight-tracking and airport companion app, has finally arrived at its long-awaited destination: its universal version. Just last week, App in the Air received an update that brought a new weather timeline feature and a fix for an issue concerning the app's in-app purchases for flight-related push and SMS notifications. In that update's changelog, the App in the Air development team noted that the app's "iPad version is coming SOON." As it turns out, that "SOON" was fittingly written in all caps, seeing as it meant "just over a week." Released for iPhone and iPod touch in May last year, App in the Air has finally been updated with universal support. As a result, App in the Air has gained a native iPad edition, with a promise from the App in the Air team that it's going to "be improved soon." Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.1 or later, the new universal version of App in the Air is available now in the App Store for free. The newly updated app also features the added ability to share flights via text and email. For more information on App in the Air, check out our original article on the app here on AppAdvice, which notes that the app "helps you stay up-to-date on flight details and everything that’s going on in and near the airport with a combination of technical information and social network integration."
