Shoto 2.0 Introduces New Features For Improved Private Photo Sharing

December 28, 2013
The private photo-sharing app Shoto has just been updated to version 2.0, just a couple of months after its launch on iOS. Promising users the ability to "see the complete picture automatically, privately & together," Shoto creates albums of photos based on where they're taken and who were with you when you took them. Essentially, using your contacts and your photos' location data, it collects the photos you take and the ones taken by your friends. Obviously, Shoto is best used with friends. And if you're new to Shoto, the app's new update has you covered with its improved signup process, which has been reduced to three screens for a better on-boarding experience. Shoto now also shows default friends and albums once you're logged in to help you get familiarized with the app. The newly released version 2.0 of Shoto also offers an improved process for inviting new users from your contacts directly into an album. It also ensures that all synced photos, not just photos from camera roll, now show up in the app. But perhaps the most notable addition in Shoto 2.0 is the new ShotoGrams feature, which lets you message friends around your shared memories. You can now also have private one-on-one chats with friends in your albums. The new version of Shoto also features push and text notifications for when new memories are shared with you or when any of your friends join Shoto. Also including bug fixes and performance enhancements, Shoto 2.0 is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later.
