New Horizon Camera App For iOS May Just Be The Cure For Vertical Video Syndrome
January 14, 2014
Do you suffer from Vertical Video Syndrome? Do you know someone who does? Then you owe it to yourself to check out the new Horizon app for iOS.
Essentially, Horizon lets you record horizontal videos regardless of your iOS device's orientation. Whether you hold your device in portrait mode or in landscape, your video remains horizontal. You can even rotate your device while shooting and still your video will stay horizontal.
Horizon developer Evil Window Dog explains:
As the user records, Horizon auto-levels videos utilizing the device's gyroscope. The orientation of the resulting video stays corrected so that it is always parallel to the ground. Users can also choose between eight real-time filters to apply while recording and share the final result to their favorite social network right within the app.If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Horizon features three different leveling modes: Just Rotate, Scale & Rotate, and Disabled. Just Rotate (the default mode) sets the frame to a fixed size, Scale & Rotate adjusts the frame size for maximum viewport, and Disabled, well, disables auto-leveling altogether. Horizon is available now in the App Store for the 50-percent-off introductory price of $0.99. It's compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later. Depending on the device, Horizon's supported resolutions and aspect ratios include 1080p (16:9), 720p (16:9), 640x640 (square), 640x480 (4:3), and 480x480 (square). [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
