Popular Mac Music Player Vox Goes 2.0 With New Interface, Gapless Playback And More

January 28, 2014
If you're looking for an alternative to iTunes as your music player on Mac, you could do a lot worse than choosing Vox, which has just received a significant update. Released last August, Vox has just been updated to version 2.0. As pointed out by developer Coppertino (via MacRumors), Vox 2.0 features a new interface that's simple yet smart and support for gapless playback:
Well known in the Mac community for delivering gorgeous sound, intuitive user features and flexible file support, VOX 2.0’s most exciting update is the completely redesigned smart interface, which now slickly displays album art; seamlessly tucks away controls until needed, and offers perhaps the most lightweight, flexible, modern music player available for OS X. Additionally, Mac fans asked and Coppertino listened. VOX 2.0 now features gapless playback that eliminates pauses between audio tracks.

Vox 2.0 also includes support for new playlist formats for export (PLS, M3U), smarter searching across all devices and file locations, improved multi-device support via the Audio MIDI, and several bug fixes. Compatible with OS X 10.7 Lion or later, Vox 2.0 is available now in the App Store for free. It offers a premium Internet radio feature via a $2.99 in-app purchase.
