Scarlett Johansson Calls Siri 'A Backstabber' After Recent Diss
January 13, 2014
Samantha isn’t so fond of Apple’s Siri either.
After Siri began dissing the fictional operating system in the sci-fi romantic dramedy film, “Her,” Samantha’s creator is striking back. Actress Scarlett Johansson calls Siri “a backstabber,” according to Vanity Fair.
Earlier this month, Buzzfeed reported Siri’s apparent disapproval, if not jealousy, of Samantha. As previous noted, asking Siri if she is “Her” results in responses pointing out that “Her” is “just a movie” and “purely fictional” and that the film’s “portrayal of an intelligent agent is beyond artificial.”
Oh. My. God,” Johansson responded, playfully hurt. “I feel like I’ve been betrayed. The other day I asked Siri how I looked and she said, ‘You’re the fairest of them all.’ So she’s obviously playing both sides … What a backstabber, man.”This isn’t the first time Apple has used Siri to go after other products — fictional, or otherwise. Months ago, Siri began taking swipes at Google Glass, the wearable computer that supports natural language voice commands. Written and directed by Spike Jonze, “Her” stars Joaquin Phoenix as a lonely soon-to-be-divorcee who develops a close relationship with an intelligent operating system named Samantha. We can’t wait to hear what Siri thinks of Johansson's fun comments. Have you seen "Her" yet?
