Shopify 4.0 Makes Managing Your Online Store Much Easier On The Go

The popular online store platform Shopify has kicked off the new year with a lot of new stuff for its official mobile app for iOS.

“With Shopify Mobile we’ve completely overhauled our popular iOS app and baked in some exciting new features that are going to help you increase sales - right from the palm of your hand,” the Shopify team notes. “This is an important step forward towards creating a commerce platform that enables our merchants to sell their products anywhere, whether it’s online, in-store or on-the-go.”

As you might expect, the latest iteration of the app, Shopify 4.0, sports a new interface that's inspired by the clean, simple, and flat visual style of iOS 7. But more than its new design, the new and improved Shopify app boasts a number of new features that make for easier Shopify store management anytime, anywhere.

In conjunction with Shopify's free card reader, the newly updated app lets you accept credit card payments. The app also lets you create orders right on your iOS device. Note, though, that these two new features are initially available to U.S. merchants only.

Shopify 4.0 also notifies you every time there's a new order for any of your products. You can then easily fulfill the order and notify your customer that his or order has been shipped.

The app also lets you make changes to products, prices, and inventory on the fly, with the changes automatically synced across the Shopify platform, including Shopify POS in your brick-and-mortar retail store.

Shopify 4.0 is available now in the App Store for free. It's optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later.
