Talking Photo App YAKiT Goes 3.0 With New Features, Gets Kid-Friendly Edition
January 25, 2014
YAKiT, the popular app that makes photos talk (or yak, as it were), has just been updated to version 3.0 with several significant enhancements. At the same time, its kid-friendly edition, the aptly named YAKiT Kids, has been released.
YAKiT 3.0 introduces a new, clean, and simple design, improving on the pre-iOS 7 interface of the app, which was released in April last year.
And to add more personality to your yakking masterpieces, YAKiT 3.0 offers animated stickers, including eyes, mouths, noses, zombies, special effects, and bacon. Mmm, bacon.
Perhaps most notably, though, YAKiT 3.0 introduces a new global feed, including editor's picks and channels, from which you can check out other funny and weird YAKiT creations and to which you can add your own. It also lets you get more social with video comments and reactions, plus support for notifications.
But if you just want to get creating but not necessarily sharing, or if you want your little ones to enjoy the app without having them encounter things that are a tad too weird, then the new YAKiT Kids app is for you.
YAKiT Kids lets you, your kid, and other kids of all ages:
What's more, YAKiT Kids promises not to collect any personal information or include any third-party advertising, in-app purchases, or social sharing features. YAKiT 3.0 and YAKiT Kids are available now in the App Store for free. Both apps are optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
