Video On Demand: Songza Now Lets You Play The Music Videos For Your Fave Songs
February 23, 2014
Songza, the popular music streaming app that's arguably superior to Apple's own iTunes Radio, has just received another notable update.
Last November, Songza was updated with a new Songs tab under Favorites which contain a list of all of the songs you've "thumbs-upped" in the app. Originally, you could do nothing with that list but to easily purchase any of the songs on iTunes by tapping the corresponding Buy button. That is, unlike with your favorite playlists, you couldn't simply tap to play your thumbs-upped songs.
Well, thanks to Songza's latest update, now you can. To be more specific, you can now play the YouTube music videos of your thumbs-upped songs right within the app. But since it's just the music videos and not the actual song streams themselves that are being played, playback stops when you close Songza.
Nevertheless, this is a better-than-nothing way to listen to your favorite songs on Songza on demand.
The new version of Songza is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later.
Note, though, that like the Songs tab itself, the newly added video-streaming feature is initially available for iPhone and iPod touch only.
