A New Smart Watch Design Concept Worth Considering
March 7, 2014
I’ve been collecting wristwatches for much of my life. In fact, my day isn’t complete without first visiting A Blog to Watch. Combine this passion with my love for technology, and it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to know I’ll be one of the first in line for Apple’s so-called “iWatch.”
Despite this excitement, I understand Apple’s wearable device isn’t going to replace any of my dress or fashion watches in my collection. A smart watch that could is one designed by Gábor Balogh.
Balogh’s smart watch concept has the look and feel of a traditional watch, combined with tools one might expect on Apple’s iWatch. These include weather, health, and music applications, along with basic navigation.
As Balogh recent told The Verge about his concept, “I like products with discreet technology.” I tend to agree.
Balogh's concept will likely never make it past the design stage. Nonetheless, it does show where wearable devices could be heading.
