Help Your Kids Think Outside The Box With Drawnimal, Apple's Free App Of The Week

March 28, 2014
As I've said, Apple likes to give away free apps for kids. Last month, it offered Toca Boca’s Toca Cars and Wonderkind’s Tiny Firefighters free of charge. Now, it's giving away Lucas Zanotto's Drawnimal as its free App of the Week in the App Store. Released in April last year, Drawnimal helps children start drawing and learn the alphabet by having them think outside the box and draw funny animals. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. As explained by Apple in its App Store Notes for Drawnimal:
Each week, we select a great app and bring it to you, for free, as our App of the Week. (In-App Purchases sold separately.) Drawnimal is a delightful way to entertain kids while teaching them the alphabet. Simply place your iPad or iPhone on a piece of paper, and as an animal's face fills the screen, a child adds its body by drawing around the device with a pen or pencil. With this playful mix of digital images and physical media, Lucas Zanotto's unique app lets youngsters indulge their creativity while reinforcing their learning.
Drawnimal includes all of the letters of the alphabet, from A to Z, in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Normally priced at $2.99, Drawnimal is available for free from today through Wednesday next week at the least. It’s compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later.
