Shelf Control: Byliner For iOS Offers Great Reads With Great Bylines

On this week's edition of Shelf Control, we're going to focus on Byliner, which has just received a major update.
Launched in July 2013, Byliner has just been updated to version 3.0. Byliner 3.0 essentially features a new design for story discovery and reading.
But what exactly is Byliner anyway? Well, Byliner is an app that offers a great piece of fiction or nonfiction whenever you feel like reading something worthwhile. You can enjoy stories handpicked by Byliner's editors, read stories that are currently trending, select stories based on your available reading time, or choose stories from topics and authors you prefer.
Speaking of authors, Byliner boasts a lineup of award-winning authors for its bylines, including Margaret Atwood, Carl Hiaasen, Nick Hornby, Jon Krakauer, Ann Patchett, and Jane Smiley. Byliner also lets you follow authors to see their very own story recommendations.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later, Byliner is available in the App Store for free.
Byliner offers a subscription for $5.99 per month, giving unlimited access to its entire library of stories for ad-free reading, whether online or offline.
Released a couple of months ago, Byliner Weekly is also available in the App Store for free. For its part, it offers a subscription for $0.99 per week, with a new issue of quality fiction and nonfiction delivered in time for the weekend each Friday.
