Amazon's Cloud Drive Photos App Receives A Big Update

April 14, 2014
Amazon has just unveiled a sizeable update to its Cloud Drive Photos app for iOS devices. Version 3.0 most importantly features a complete redesign that fits in nicely with iOS 7 and allows users to quickly and easily find the photos or videos they would like to view. The simple navigation structure also allows quick access of the most frequently used features. Another welcome new feature is the timeline view that allows users to view their history of photos and videos easily. The updated app can also sort videos into one album and sort photos and albums by time or date. Uploading photos is also improved as users can now see the progress and status of their automatic or manual uploads. A universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, Amazon Cloud Drive Photos can be downloaded now in the App Store for free. All users receive 5GB of free storage. If you need more than that, it will cost you. Amazon’s plans start at $10 a year for 20GB and go all the way to 1TB of cloud storage for $500 per year. Photos and videos added to Amazon’s Cloud Drive can also be viewed on a television screen with the recently released Fire TV streaming video box. Before today’s update, the last major change arrived back in December. Verison 2.0 of the app added native support for both the iPad and iPad mini.
