What You Might Not Know About The Camera On Apple's Next iPhone
April 29, 2014
The camera on the next iPhone may use electronic, not optical image stabilization. The “iPhone 6” camera could also boast a larger pixel size of 1.75 um compared to the 1.5 um pixel size of the iPhone 5s’ camera, according to new findings shared with Weibo by ESM China analyst Sun Chang Xu.
According to Xu, adding an electronic image stabilization system would allow for the device to have a slimmer camera that doesn’t protrude out of its body. Previous iPhone 6 rumors have suggested that Apple is looking to integrate optical image stabilization on the iPhone 6. Recent renderings show that were this to happen, the device would ship with a protruding camera.
Apple’s next iPhone is likely to feature a 4.7-inch sapphire crystal display. The new handset will feature a pill shaped power button on the right side of the device, as opposed to the top, and a battery that Apple will claim is better than anything that came before it. It will also come with an “A8” processor and “M8” motion coprocessor, and a better camera.
