Google Drive Update Brings Faster Uploading Of Photos And Images

June 25, 2014
In concert with the kickoff of its I/O conference, Google has just unveiled an updated edition of its Google Drive app for iOS devices. Version 3.1 brings four nice improvements. With incoming view, users can see files that have been shared with them as they arrive. The activity stream allows users to see changes to files and folders made by them and others from the details panel. Files can now also be set so that anyone with a link can view, comment, or edit. Finally, users will be able to upload pictures and videos to the cloud storage service faster. A universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, Google Drive can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. Google has been busy today. While announcing a number of new initiatives at the conference’s keynote address, Google introduced the new premium Drive for Work option. For $10 a month, businesses will receive unlimited storage and can take advantage of a number of security features. Back in March, Google slashed the price for storage on the cloud-based service. For $9.99 per month, regular users can store up to 1TB of files. A roomy 100GB is just $1.99 per month. Users get 15GB free. Finally, in a blog post, Google announced that a new Slides iOS app will be available soon for users to edit presentations. Google Docs and Google Sheets arrived back on the App Store in April. The main advantage of the apps is that the information can be accessed offline.
