Google Search For iOS Updated With New Google Now Cards For 2014 World Cup

June 12, 2014
Just as it did for the Winter Olympics in Russia last January, Google has updated the official Google Search app for iOS with Google Now cards for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. With the new version of Google Search for iOS, you can get updated on every match in the tournament, which runs from June 12 to July 13. Provided you're signed in to Google and have Google Now turned on in the app settings, you can swipe up to see the Google Now card prompting you to follow all teams or choose your favorite team. You can then tap on Google Now cards showing a match (like the one in the screenshot above) to get details, including scorers, match statistics, and group standings. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later, Google Search is available in the App Store for free. The new version of the app also includes several smaller fixes on logging in and crashes. Google Search for iOS received its last major update last month, thereby gaining a new "OK, Google" feature and other improvements.
