Apple to soon offer iPhone 5s screen replacements

July 31, 2014

Apple retail stores in the United States and Canada will soon begin offering iPhone 5s screen replacements. The new service is scheduled to launch on Monday, Aug. 4, according to 9to5Mac.

Until now, iPhone 5s screen replacements were only available in a few stores in the U.S. as part of a pilot program. The screen replacements cost approximately $150 per repair. This compares to the $269 that Apple charges to replace a broken iPhone 5s.

Once Apple officially announces the iPhone 5s screen repair program, users will be able to schedule an appointment with their local Genius Bar to get the repair done.

Both the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c launched last September. Cupertino began offering iPhone 5c screen replacements in January.

The next-generation “iPhone 6” is likely to arrive this fall.
