Apple unveils a beautiful new iTunes 12 design for OS X Yosemite

July 21, 2014
Ever since Apple unveiled OS X Yosemite in June, many have been expecting an iTunes refresh for Mac. On Monday, that update finally arrived in OS X Yosemite Developer Preview 4. Along with changing the application icon to red from blue, iTunes 12 includes an elegant new design, and the ability to share purchases from iTunes, iBooks, and the App Store with up to six family members, without sharing accounts. Other new features include:
  • Improved Playlists. You can now see your full library and playlists side by side, making it even easier to add your favorite songs to playlists.
  • Redesigned Info Window. The get info window has been completely redesigned featuring a clean look that displays the most useful information about your media.
Developers already using OS X Yosemite can download the iTunes 12 beta by going into the App Store application under Software Update. OS X Yosemite will be released to the public later this year.
