Realmac announces Typed, a new markdown editor for Mac

July 17, 2014
Realmac Software has announced Typed, a new markdown editor for Mac. Currently in the private testing stage of development, the new application is expected to launch later this year.

Markdown allows you to write using an easy-to-read, easy-to-write plain text format, and then convert it to HTML to post online. Because Markdown text files are simply plain-text, you can use almost any text editor to open them.

Typed makes things even better, by showing you formatting as you write in a layout that’s easy to read and edit.

Featuring a minimal UI, Typed includes:
  • Stunning typography, with gorgeous licensed fonts
  • Full Screen
  • HTML Preview
  • Word and character counts
  • Auto Save support
  • Full compliment of keyboard shortcuts

We'll be following the development of Typed in the weeks and months ahead and let you know what with think. In the meantime, if you wish to be considered for the public beta for Typed, be sure to click on the following link.

Typed will be available via both the Mac App Store and the Realmac Store. Pricing has yet to be announced.

Other Realmac Software titles include Clear, RapidWeaver, and Ember.
