First OS X Yosemite public beta set to launch on Thursday, July 24

July 23, 2014
On Thursday, Apple will release the first public beta for OS X 10.10 Yosemite, according to The Loop. The public beta is the same version released to developers earlier this week. However, the developer version will be updated more often in the coming months than the pubic beta version. As The Loop correctly notes:
This is so developers can continue to test their software with the latest operating system available. Consumers really don’t need updates that frequently.

Both iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite are expected to be released to the public this fall. They might not be released at the same time, however.
