Carcassonne developer releases new iOS twitch puzzle game that Rules!

August 8, 2014
TheCodingMonkeys, a studio best known for its iOS board games (including Carcassonne and Lost Cities), has just come out with its first non-board game title on the App Store: Rules! Rules is touted by the developer as a twitch puzzle game that combines parts of Simon Says, Super Hexagon, Threes, and Papers, Please. Rules is so named because it essentially tests your ability to, well, follow rules. In each level of the game, it gives you a new rule to follow. The challenge comes in your having to recall and follow each of the rules in the previous levels:
The basic idea is to tap animals, monsters and other characters in the correct order determined by the rules. In every level a new rule is added. You start by tapping in descending numerical order. Simple! But soon you have to look out for the green things, phones, unicorns or odd numbers while the clock ticks down.
Check out the trailer for Rules: If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Rules features 100 challenging levels and new game mechanics introduced as you progress through the puzzles. Rules! is available now on the App Store for $1.99. It's optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.1 or later. A universal update to make the game natively compatible with iPad and iPad mini is set to be released soon.
