Awesome Screenshot for Safari out now on iOS thanks to iOS 8's Share extension feature
If you’re a fan of Awesome Screenshot on Chrome, Firefox, or Safari for desktop, then you’ll be delighted to learn that the popular webpage screenshot utility software is now available on Safari for iOS as well. If not, then you’ll probably be pleased just the same.
The release of Awesome Screenshot for Safari on iOS is made possible by iOS 8, whose Share extension feature has opened up an array of possibilities for third-party developers to enhance the interoperability of iOS apps.
To enable Awesome Screenshot for Safari on your iOS device, download Awesome Screenshot from the App Store, open Safari, tap the Share icon, tap More on the bottom tray, and turn on Screenshot.
Thereafter, you can tap the Share icon and select the Screenshot option to take a screenshot of the webpage you’re currently viewing in Safari.
You can choose to take a screenshot of the entire webpage or of the visible portion only. You can then crop the screenshot or edit it using a number of annotation tools. Finally, you can save the screenshot to camera roll or share it via text, email, or social media.
All that you can do, by the way, without having to leave Safari. The Awesome Screenshot app itself doesn’t even have to be open.
