It's official: Apple's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are bigger, thinner and look great
It’s official: Apple’s next-generation iPhone handsets, called the “iPhone 6” and the “iPhone 6 Plus,” are bigger and thinner than the previous-generation iPhone 5s device.
Apple explains:
These are the thinnest iPhones ever made.
iPhone 6 is merely 6.9 mm. iPhone 6 Plus is just a smidge more at 7.1 mm.
Take a look:
In terms of size, the next-generation iPhone 6 features a 4.7-inch screen, while the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus includes a 5.5-inch screen. Usefully, the larger smartphones can be used in both the traditional portrait and landscape mode; a new landscape Home screen layout has also been added in iOS 8.
The new smartphones were unveiled on-stage at Apple’s ongoing media event at the Flint Center in Cupertino, California. We’ll be going hands-on with the device later today; in the meantime, head over to the AppAdvice main page for more of our event coverage, or call by our dedicated live blog.
