Speaking on-stage during Apple’s ongoing October media event, chief executive officer Tim Cook has announced that 225 million iPads have been sold to date.
Before unveiling the Cupertino, California-based company’s iPad Air 2, Cook noted that the iPad dominated PC sales over the course of the last 12 months. Specifically, Apple sold 70 million iPads during this period.
Consumer satisfaction for the iPad mini is at 100 percent, Cook added, and more than 675,000 iPad-optimized applications are currently available on the App Store.
