Rdio app optimized for iOS 8, iPhone 6, CarPlay and higher-quality audio
Rdio for iOS has just received an update that optimizes the popular music streaming app for Apple’s new mobile operating system and new automobile dashboard system.
Indeed, the official iOS app of Rdio has been updated with compatibility improvements for iOS 8, including support for interactive notifications for following other Rdio users.
The app has also been optimized with high-resolution images, album artwork, and other interface enhancements for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
The latest update to Rdio for iOS also adds support for CarPlay. According to the Rdio team, this allows you to “control Rdio playback and navigate your favorites and playlists from the built-in display in CarPlay-enabled cars.” Rdio joins other select music streaming services, most notably including Spotify, that offer support for CarPlay.

The new version of Rdio for iOS also boasts higher quality of sounds. Rdio Unlimited subscribers now have the option to listen to music at 320 kbps, while other Rdio users can enjoy music at up to 192 kbps. This enhancement comes following the conversion of Rdio’s entire catalog of songs to high-quality AAC audio.
The newly updated Rdio app also includes various UI improvements and minor bug fixes.
