Today’s apps gone free: Brightstone Mysteries, CarTunes, Photo Journal and more

You’re also able to earn achievements based on the places you have taken your photos.

Brightstone Mysteries successfully weaves together an out of this world story and classic point and click gameplay. Tag along with NYC detective Bridget Brightstone as she heads to France to crack the case of a missing necklace in a haunted castle hotel. You must discover clues, collect items, and unlock the mystery behind the spooky hotel to stop evil from rising from the grave.

With CarTunes, it’s all about the swipes. The app puts your album artwork front and center and tucks all other options away in another screen that can be accessed with an upwards swipe. You can tap to play and pause your tunes, swipe left and right to change tracks, hold and swipe vertically to adjust the volume, and even swipe with two fingers to tweet what you’re listening to.
CarTunes Music Player is available for free today only (11/18). It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 802 ratings.
It’s difficult to find mobile games with great gameplay and fantastic art direction, but somehow the developers of Crowman and Wolfboy have packed both into their platformer. The game’s starring characters, Crowman and Wolfboy, run in tandem, and it’s up to you to control all of their movements. You’re able to jump, fly, climb, smash, and change directions with simple swipe controls. Try to collect light orbs to push back the darkness while going on the hunt for the items hidden all around the eerie worlds.
Crowman & Wolfboy is available for free today only (11/18). It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 144 ratings.
iPad:
Evernote can become a cluttered mess full of historical data that no longer has any meaning. Bubble Browser restores meaning to all of that data by providing context in a visual way. The app includes three styles of bubbles, with their size determined by the amount of information within. Tap on a bubble to highlight all others with related information. If you double tap a bubble, the app will group together related bubbles and filter all of your notes. Your notes will all run down the right side of the screen, and you can tap on any one to get a good look at it.
