Today’s apps gone free: ClearWeather, Geography Duel, Captune and more
iPhone:
Spender is one of the fastest finance apps we’ve ever used. Upon launch you’re immediately brought to the expense and income recording screen. Just tap an icon at the top to categorize your entry and add a value. You can toggle between expense and income with a left to right swipe across the top of the screen. You’re also able to attach a note to your entry if need be. The app includes the ability to create custom categories, view a detailed breakdown of your entries, and set a passcode.

ClearWeather color codes your entire forecast, so you won’t have to go digging around to find out what to wear today. The app features an intuitive interface that allows you to swipe up and down to reveal more detailed information. It includes 24-hour and seven-day forecasts, support for Celsius and Fahrenheit, wind speed and direction, humidity, precipitation, pressure, sunrise and sunset, moon phases, and the ability to add multiple locations.
ClearWeather — Color Forecast is available for free today only (11/30). It has a 4-star rating with a total of 284 ratings.
The best thing about Captune is that everything is done in real time. There’s absolutely no editing required. All you have to do is pick a tune from your library, choose a filter, and start recording. If you want, you can jump to a specific point in the song instead of playing the entire thing. When you’re finished, you can save the video right back to your library or share it via Facebook or AirDrop. The app includes a total of eight filters to choose from.
Captune – Make Music Videos in Real Time is available for free for a limited time. It has a 5-star rating with a total of 9 ratings.
Universal:
What really makes Geography Duel great is that anyone can join in on the fun, even adults! You’re able to adjust the settings to ensure that the game is fair and balanced. For example, if you’re an adult playing against a child, you can enable capitals or countries to make it more difficult for you to find your location before your opponent. The duel part of the game can be played in split screen mode on the same iPad, but you can also hone your skills in the single player mode. The game also includes the ability to change the map design.
Geography Duel – Two Player Split Screen Geography Game for Kids and Adults is available for free today only (11/30). It has a 5-star rating with a total of 6 ratings.
Did you really think your Candy Crush addiction would just fizzle out? Not a chance! Welcome to your new sodalicious obsession. Candy Crush Soda Saga builds on the original game’s formula by offering new modes that require you to swap candies and bottles to release a stream of purple soda and save the Candy Bears. There are also new candies and combinations to create, resulting in Swedish Fish and the remarkable Coloring Candy to enter the mix. All in all you have 140 levels to conquer, so you better get to it!
Candy Crush Soda Saga is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 22236 ratings.
Don’t let the minimalist graphics fool you, this is one difficult game. You’re put in control of a little white ball as it spins round and round circles. Each circle is interconnected, allowing you to move from one to another by tapping to shift from the inside to the outside. If you mistime your tap, your white ball will be placed at the nearest checkpoint. Things get really complicated when spikes are introduced, requiring you to constantly move in and out of circles to avoid certain death.
oO is available for free today only (11/30). It has a 5-star rating with a total of 18 ratings.
