Apple could be prepping a 4-inch 'iPhone 6s mini'

December 23, 2014

Do you find the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus too big? Help could be on the way in 2015, according to Cowen and Company’s Timothy Arcuri (via AppleInsider).

According to the analyst, it’s “possible” that Apple is working on a new 4-inch iPhone model that could launch next year. The so-called “iPhone 6s mini” could feature the same specifications as the iPhone 5s, except with a form factor more similar to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

AppleInsider notes that Arcuri’s track record on Apple rumors is mixed. “He did correctly reveal a number of details about the iPhone 6 back in January of 2014, but he also incorrectly claimed the iPhone 6 Plus would have a more powerful processor than the iPhone 6.”

If this story is correct, the iPhone 6s mini is likely to replace the iPhone 5c, which is currently Apple’s least expensive handset.

The iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c both feature a 4-inch screen. The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus are also available.
