Foursquare updates Swarm check-in app with interactive notifications in iOS 8
Foursquare has just released another notable update to its standalone check-in app, Swarm.
About a month ago, Foursquare updated its namesake local search and discovery app with support for interactive notifications, allowing users to quickly perform actions like “save,” “like,” and “follow” right from Foursquare push notifications.
Now, Foursquare has also added support for interactive notifications to Swarm through the app’s latest update. Consequently, users can now accept or reject friend requests and like or comment on check-ins directly from Swarm push notifications.
The latest update to Swarm also adds “some more insights to let you know where you stand against your friends in the quest for golden stickers.”
Swarm received its previous major update in October, thereby gaining support for a Today widget enabling users to check in and see friends who are nearby right from the Notification Center.
Foursquare removed the check-in functionality from its main app and spun it off into Swarm in May.
