Save money with the bunny: Hopper tells you the best time to fly and buy

Are you a frequent flyer? Are you planning on traveling by air soon? If your answer to either question is in the affirmative, then I suggest you check out the newly released flight research and prediction app Hopper.

Like an all-knowing, pocket-sized, bunny-themed travel agent, Hopper tells you the best time to fly and buy your plane tickets for your next trip. Essentially, it advises you whether to book now or later to score a deal on your airfare.

The app lets you watch a trip to get notified in real time of when prices drop or are likely to go up. In some cases, you could save as much as 40 percent over the best price from your initial search.

Furthermore, Hopper features a calendar with color-coded dates that indicate the best times to fly. It also recommends switching travel dates or airports if doing so results in more savings.

Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 8.0 or later, and already enhanced with full resolution support for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Hopper is available now on the App Store in the U.S. and Canada for free.

Conventional wisdom has it that airfares are low on transparency yet high on variation. It’s a good thing, then, that Hopper has hopped in to advise travelers on the right moment to book flights with low pricing and, subsequently, high saving.
