Developer Spacetime Studios has just announced that an interesting new MOBA game is in development.

Call of Champions is specifically made for use on mobile devices and has a time limit of five minutes for each multiplayer battle. Gamers will take on the role of a godlike persona that controls their champions in the arena for sport.

Here’s a quick teaser trailer. Click here if you can’t see it.

In the game, players can control one of more than 20 champions from five distinct classes. Each champion has their own unique battle style and abilities. Players will also be able to recruit team members, plan matches, earn achievements, and view or broadcast matches live.

The game will arrive sometime this year for both the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It will be free to download.

We’ll make sure to let you know if we hear any more information about Call of Champions, it definitely looks like something I’d be interested in playing.

And if you can’t wait for some MOBA action, I can also highly recommend Vainglory. It was highlighted at the iPhone 6 and Apple Watch event back in September and is enormously fun to play.

There is a separate version of the game for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. Both are free.
