Today’s apps gone free: Spite and Malice, Solve, Tunable and more
Universal:
Speed and accuracy is the name of the game in The Firm. As stocks come across your desk, you must decide if you should buy or not buy based on the color and trend of each company. Your decisions must be made in a snap, because the stocks just keep on piling up. Just don’t make too many bad purchases, otherwise you’ll be fired.
The Firm is available for free today only (04/11). It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 505 ratings.
Tunable provides you with instant visual feedback, which is absolutely necessary for any musician. As notes are held out, a white line will show you how steady your pitch is. The straighter the line, the more consistent you are. Tunable also includes a chord generator, a metronome, AirPlay support, and the ability to record your practices and performances.
Tunable: Tuner, Metronome, and Recorder is available for free for a limited time. It has a 5-star rating with a total of 275 ratings.
Unleash your inner demon with the fiendishly fun Spite & Malice. Your goal is to be the first person to play all of the cards from your own pile by placing them on the middle piles in numerical order. Don’t worry about the suits of the cards because in Spite & Malice they don’t mean a thing. Just remember that the best way to beat your opponent is to block them from ever playing their cards. The game includes a single player mode, and online real-time and turn-based multiplayer.
Spite & Malice is available for free today only (04/11). It has a 4-star rating with a total of 3410 ratings.
Solve is not only the best graphing calculator around, it’s also the best overall calculator thanks to its unique colorful interface. The colors aren’t there just to pretty things up. They also serve as separate calculators that can interact with each other. For example, if you store an answer within one calculator, you can swipe across the color bar to recall and use it in another calculator. Whenever you have an equation with variables that can be plotted a “Touch to Plot” button will appear, allowing you to quickly turn it into a graph. The app is loaded with other great features, and thankfully in-depth tutorials are available to help you take full advantage of all of them.
Solve – A colorful graphing calculator is available for free for a limited time. It has a 3-star rating with a total of 895 ratings.

Dreamdays HD puts the events that are most important to you front and center. When creating a new countdown for an event you’re able to title and categorize it, set a date, and create a custom background. The app will then begin its countdown and send out a reminder as the day approaches. You will also see the event appear within Notification Center as the date approaches. You’re able to view all of your countdown cards at once, filter them out, or view them separately. The app also includes passcode protection, iCloud support, and the ability to share events.
Dreamdays HD – Countdown to the Days that Matter is available for free today only (04/11). It has a 5-star rating with a total of 286 ratings.
