Apple begins to send out official media invitations for the WWDC 2015 keynote on Monday, June 8
It’s official. Mark your calendars for 10 a.m. PDT on Monday, June 8. That’s when Apple will kick off WWDC 2015 with its usual keynote address. Media members began receiving invitations to the event earlier today.
The keynote will last from 10 a.m. PDT to 12 p.m. PDT that day at Moscone West in San Francisco.
This year’s address is shaping up to be full of big news from the company. Along with officially unveiling iOS 9 and Mac OS X 10.11, Apple is rumored to announce a pair of new software initiatives – a revamped Beats Music streaming service and a new streaming TV service.
The new Beats Music will feature its own social networking integration from artists and possibly exclusive content from popular musicians like Taylor Swift. There will also be some type of free trial period.
Costing $30 to $40 per month, the streaming TV service will reportedly offer content from big-name providers like ABC, CBS, Fox, and ESPN.
And the next-generation Apple TV will also reportedly be unveiled during the keynote. While it probably won’t support 4K content, the device is rumored to feature Siri support, a faster A8 chip, and a true App Store.
On the heels of the official media invitations, Apple has also updated the official WWDC app with support for the Apple Watch. Here’s an interactive preview of the app from our sister site WatchAware.
With the Apple Watch, users can access conference information, add sessions to the Calendar, listen to session audio, and give feedback on session videos. The app is universal for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
