Best new games of the week: Marvel Future Fight and Wedding Escape
Every week, our staff will handpick a game from the past two weeks that we believe is a must-have download for your iPhone or iPad. These games will always be from a wide variety of genres, but they are chosen because our own staff members love it and can’t put it down. So here are this week’s picks! Enjoy, and happy gaming!
Marvel Future Fight
Did you see “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” in theaters last week, but still want more of your favorite Marvel super heroes? Then you should grab our Game of the Week, Marvel Future Fight from Netmarble.
In this RPG game, players are able to play as a plethora of classic Marvel characters, including The Avengers, Spider-Man, Daredevil, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Loki, Doctor Octopus, and many more. The entire roster features 36 familiar heroes and villains alike, so you can pick your favorite.
The graphics in the game are beautiful and will pull you into the Marvel universe with fine details, realistic textures, and great character models. Marvel Future Fight also has an original storyline that is from Peter David, a Marvel comics writer. In Future Fight, S.H.I.E.L.D Director Nick Fury sends out a call from the future, informing heroes that multiple dimensions of the universe are collapsing on each other. Players will have to go out and find more heroes and assemble their team to protect the universe from collapsing into nothing.
The game has an extensive single player campaign where you get to experience the story, or you can play against others in 3v3 battles. The controls are simple and just need one touch, and there are plenty of bonuses to earn and collect.
We’re fans of the Marvel universe here at AppAdvice, so we have been enjoying Marvel Future Fight among all of the Avengers news. If you’re a fan of Marvel heroes and villains and want a fun RPG to play, then check this one out. You can get Marvel Future Fight on the App Store as a universal download for free with in-app purchases.

Honorable Mention
Wedding Escape
In the mood for a match-three game with a unique twist instead? Then you have to try our Honorable Mention, Wedding Escape by Rafael Lima.
This match-three puzzle game features adorable, quirky characters (some of whom you will recognize) who are just about to tie the knot on their big day, when suddenly, the groom (or the bride once you unlock some) gets cold feet. And what do you do when you get cold feet at the altar? You run and make your great escape! Wedding Escape has a gorgeous visual style that makes it stand out nicely on your Retina device, and a whimsical soundtrack with cute sound effects from all characters. Plus, things get pretty flashy once you land those big combos.
Wedding Escape is a match-three puzzle game like many you’ve played before, but there’s an interesting game mechanic here: you don’t swap pieces with each other, but rather you flip them and match the colors and symbols (coins and diamonds) to each other. Because each piece cannot be moved, things get much more challenging and matches are less obvious. Up to five adjacent pieces can be flipped, so there are plenty of opportunities for big combos.
The game has players running through several different levels that are just different areas on their escape, but as you get farther along, you need to match up more tiles in a certain amount of moves to progress. The four power-up items (bomb, mine, magnet, and flip all) get unlocked as you go, and can be used on the special pieces that you create with matches of five or more.
Players can earn coins depending on the number of moves that are left on each level before they clear a stage. The coins are used to unlock new characters, similar to the system implemented in Crossy Road. If you’re impatient, though, you can purchase characters for $0.99 a pop, though they are for cosmetic purposes only. You can also get a coin doubler or quadruple the earned coins for $1.99 or $4.99, respectively, and fully remove ads with the latter.
We’ve been getting a lot of enjoyment out of this charming little puzzle game over the past week, so it’s one of our must-haves if you’re a fan of match-three puzzles. You can get Wedding Escape on the App Store as a universal download for free with in-app purchases.
