You can now use the updated Duet Display app as a second screen for your Windows 7 or 8 PC
Duet Display has gotten even more useful with a recent update. As the name suggests, the app allows users to turn their iPhone or iPad into a second screen for their laptop or desktop computer.
Originally launching back in late 2014, the app was only compatible with most Macs. But version 1.1.0 brings support for all PCs running Windows 7 or Windows 8.
And unlike other apps that depend on a Wi-Fi connection, you’ll connect the iOS device to a computer using a Lightning or 30-pin cable. That makes it easier to get setup and running.
Here’s a quick video that shows how the app works. Click here if you can’t see it.
A universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini, you can download Duet Display now on the App Store for a sale price of $9.99. It was previously $15.99.
After downloading the app, you’ll need to install the companion title for your Mac or PC. Those can be found on the Duet Display site here.
I’ve been using Duet Display since the beginning of the year, and have really enjoyed using it on my spare iPad mini. Using a Lightning cable instead of relying on a Wi-Fi network makes the interaction seamless and truly lag free, at least in my experience.
