Finally, your Facebook News Feed your way
How many times have you scrolled and scrolled through your Facebook News Feed in search of posts from your closest friends and family? If you have always wished there was a way to move those most important posts to the top of the feed, you’re in luck. Rolling out to iOS app users today, July 9, is a super update to the popular social media app bringing more features.
Customize your News Feed
The Facebook app News Feed Preferences feature will now allow you to customize your feed, your way. You will be able to choose which friends and Pages will be at the top of the list. Within your preferences you will just select those friends which puts a star on their post. This way you will always know who you prioritized.
Here is a look at this new Facebook customization feature in action. Just click here if you cannot view the video:
Discover new Pages
Another of the updates lets you check out new Pages that you can follow by showing you options based on those you have liked previously. This will make it much easier to connect with the companies and businesses that interest you most.
Follow or Unfollow
Whether it is friend, Page, or group there are times when you do not want to “unfriend” or “defriend” them, but just don’t want to see their posts popping up any longer. Now the app will give you a way to Unfollow them which will simply hide their posts. If you change your mind, you will also be able to Follow them again by seeing the list of those Unfollowed and reconnect.
It’s about time
These updates are a long time coming. The customization of the News Feed to put those people at the top that you want, rather than Facebook deciding what is important, is an awesome new feature. Equally decent are the other two updates and I will be checking the App Store for this update today to try everything out.
As mentioned, today’s update applies to the iOS app only. If you have not seen the update yet, just keep checking. Android and desktop Facebook users will have to wait a few more weeks to get their hands on the new features.
Facebook is universal and available for free on the App Store.
