Olloclip’s Studio is a mobile photography rig for the iPhone
Olloclip is heading back to its roots with a new iPhone photography accessory. The company, which got its start through Kickstarter in 2011, has recently unveiled its Studio system through the crowdfunding platform.
Previously, the major issue with Olloclip lenses for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is that they needed to be used with a caseless and unprotected handset. The company unveiled a solution back in May with the slim Ollocase, but it’s not exactly made to offer rugged protection.
That all changes with the Studio. Designed with an active lifestyle in mind, that case can protect an iPhone from most drops and also features a mounting system for all of the rig’s accessories – including a kickstand mount.
There are a number of pledge options available. Geared toward current Olloclip owners, a $35 pledge will net you a Studio case and kickstand clip. A pledge of $60 will net a Studio case and full accessory kit that includes two cold shoes, two mounts, and a universal finger grip.
Probably the best deal is with a pledge of $110. That will score backers a Studio case, full accessory kit, and the popular Olloclip 4-in-1 Lens.
All rewards are expected to ship in September. With 29 days to go, the project is almost half way to its funding goal of $100,000.
Olloclip’s photography accessories are a great way for users to improve images and videos captured on their iPhone. And Studio looks fantastic. I’m interested to see what other accessories the company can design for the unique central rail mounting system in the future.
