Cavernaut promises subterranean randomly-generated fun

Cavernaut, an incoming app for Apple’s iOS devices, promises gamers a randomly-generated exploration game that takes place in the depths of the underground.

You’ll be able to pick up the game next week, from Sept. 22, and it’ll be priced at $0.99 for its first seven days of availability. From here, however, its price tag will double, and gamers will have to cough up $1.99 in order to take Cavernaut for a spin.

But what does the game offer?

Well, according to a preview video (via TouchArcade) that recently hit YouTube, the aim of the game is to keep on driving through an expanding cave using a small, rocket-like vehicle. In order to power your vehicle, you’ll need to call in at fuelling stations as you go. Though, at the same time, players are encouraged to pick up glowing orbs in order to boost their in-game score.

Take a look at game’s preview video, and see what you think:

Cavernaut allows iOS device owners to spend their golden orbs on upgrades, and its developer promises no in-app purchases (IAPs). This definitely looks like a fun game, and something we’re looking forward to seeing launch on the App Store.

As mentioned, you can expect Cavernaut to reach our iOS devices on Sept. 22, and it’ll be priced at $0.99 (for the first week, at least). We’ll let you know once it’s available.
