LinkedIn Pulse comes to your wrist thanks to Apple Watch update
LinkedIn Pulse, the LinkedIn-owned news app for iOS, is now compatible with the Apple Watch. As such, Pulse users who’ve updated their application will be able to check on the app’s content using their wrist-worn device, rather than their cumbersome smartphone.
Support for the Apple Watch came in version 1.2.0 of LinkedIn Pulse, and this launched on the App Store earlier today. The Apple Watch app, then, is built for watchOS 2, meaning it executes code on the smart watch (rather than on a user’s iPhone) and is all-round speedier, and more reliable, as a result.
At its most basic level, LinkedIn Pulse for Apple Watch lets users view the app’s top 10 articles. However, through performing a Force Touch, users can also like an individual article, or save it for future reading.
There’s a Glance on offer in LinkedIn Pulse 1.2.0, also. This lets users swipe up on their Apple Watch’s display in order to check on your “most important story.” And that’s all there is to it: LinkedIn Pulse for Apple Watch offers everything you’d expect, and it seems to work well. Of course, in order to read a full article, users still have the option of handing off a news story to their iPhone handset.
For those interested in bringing LinkedIn Pulse to their wrist, LinkedIn Pulse 1.2.0 can be downloaded now on the App Store.
As mentioned, it’s available free of charge, and the application is optimized for the iPhone, iPod touch, and, as of today, the Apple Watch.
