Move aside Tinder, Candidate is a smarter social dating app
Candidate, an iOS app for the iPhone and iPod touch, challenges Tinder and the like through offering iOS device owners a deeper, more meaningful means of discovering a potential romantic partner.
How, you ask? Well, instead of swiping or tapping on a profile based on the owner’s (purported) appearance, Candidate places all of its emphasis on finding out more about a person before linking two people together.
You see, in the app, iPhone owners are prompted to create a quiz of their choosing. It could be anything — as fun and quirky as you like, or as serious. Then, once complete, your questions are posted to the Candidate network for respondents to answer if they wish. Of course, the more interesting and attention-grabbing your topic is for other users of the app, the more likely they’re going to answer, prompting a possible match.
From here, Candidate users post their answers, the the creator of the quiz ranks them. Candidate then links you with your best match, based on your rating of the answers you’ve been given.
Candidate is a question and answer game where you can meet new people. Initially, the game is strictly anonymous. A mystery host creates a game of questions and evaluates the answers of the other participants. The winner of the contest and the mystery host will then be able to communicate and see each other’s profiles. Candidate offers the opportunity to meet people without fear of favoritism since Candidates are chosen solely based on their views on subjects that are important to you.
It’s all smart stuff, and definitely offers iPhone owners an interesting, new take on social dating.
