Apple has added a major new option to transit directions in the iOS 9 Maps app. First reported by MacRumors, users can now view multiple Amtrak routes to cities across the Northeastern United States including New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and others.
Some of the major Amtrak routes shown in Maps include the Northeast Regional, Acela Express, Keystone, Lake Shore Limited, Pennsylvanian, and the Maple Leaf.
Apple has also added transit information in Maps for the Boston area. Along with that city, you can find transit information for Baltimore, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C.
Outside the United States, transit directions in Maps are available in Berlin, China, London, Mexico City, and Toronto. Sydney, Australia is expected to be added sometime before the end of the month.
Along with the iPad and iPhone, Apple’s Maps app can be accessed via OS X El Capitan and the Apple Watch.
In more Maps news, noted by iPhone in Canada, Yellow Pages has partnered with Apple in that country to provide information about businesses to appear in Maps. Some information includes address, geocoordinates, phone number, Web site, and more.
