Apple releases tvOS 9.1.1 with an official Podcasts app for the new Apple TV
Apple has just released tvOS 9.1.1 for owners of the fourth-generation Apple TV. If you own the new streaming device, download the software by heading to Settings, System, Software Update. You can also select to have any new Apple TV downloaded automatically.
The software mainly features bug fixes and other small improvements. But it does include an official Podcasts app.
Earlier this month, Apple released the first beta version of tvOS 9.2. It’s a major release that brings support for Bluetooth keyboards, new Siri languages, the ability to organize apps in folders, and more. It’s unknown when that software will be officially released.
The new Apple TV first hit the market back in October. It can be purchased now for $149 for a 32GB version. A larger 64GB edition is $50 more.
