Crashlands will soon let you create your own worlds and campaigns
Last week, Crashlands by Butterscotch Shenanigans landed on iOS. And if you’re anything like us here on AppAdvice, you’ve likely been hooked on playing this out-of-this-world crafting role-playing game that, as succinctly described in our review, is both “sassy” and “insanely good.”
As someone who’s immediately turned into a fan of the game, you probably also have been wondering what’s coming up next for Crashlands. Well, wonder no more as Butterscotch Shenanigans has just taken to its official blog (via Touch Arcade) to share some exciting details about the game’s upcoming updates.
Bug fixes and ‘quality of life’ features
First in the pipeline is a minor update that will rid Crashlands of all known bug fixes. That update, which will bring the game to version 1.0.5, is scheduled to be submitted for review by tomorrow, Jan. 27.
Not long after the release of that first update will be the arrival of version 1.0.10. This “quality of life” update will deliver gameplay and performance enhancements. More details about this update will be provided by Butterscotch Shenanigans as it approaches its deployment.
Crashlands Creator
Undoubtedly the most significant update that has been announced by Butterscotch Shenanigans is the one that’s set to bring Crashlands to version 1.1.0. This patch will introduce the Crashlands Creator, which will allow you to create your own worlds and campaigns, and access those made by other players. As explained by the team:
The Crashlands Creator patch will add a bunch of new toys, and will also feature player access to other player-made campaigns, which can also include weird mutators like permadeath, the removal of crafting entirely (WHAT), permanent night, one-shot deaths 100% of the time, and creatures murdering each other. These mutators won’t affect the official campaign, but other players will be able to use them in the campaigns that they create.
No date has been set for the release of the Crashlands Creator update. But we’ll share more information about this major patch as it becomes available and we’ll of course let you know once the update comes out.
Catch the Crashlands fever
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, Crashlands is available on the App Store for $4.99, with no in-app purchases.
