In early November, we saw OmniFocus 2 add keyboard shortcuts for external keyboard users. In another update today, Jan. 5, a couple more shortcuts have been added along with icons in lists, sidebar hiding when searching, and other new features.
What’s new in OmniFocus 2
First, the new keyboard shortcuts include options for searching. Command + F will pop open the search field and Command + 1, 2, or 3 will move between the Here (1), Remaining (2), and Everything (3) tabs for that field. In addition to these updates surrounding the search feature, you will notice that the sidebar will disappear when searching in portrait mode.
Another terrific addition is the icons that now display in lists. Each individual row shows you if there are notes or attachments for that item. Along with these new features, here are just a few more updates you may notice:
- Corrections to the alignment of toolbar buttons for iOS 9.2 users
- Dismissing of the editor when deleting an item from the search results
- The control no longer locks when adding a new perspective when others are marked as favorites
- Common crashes and other bug fixes have been implemented
OmniFocus 2 is a wonderful tool for management of your tasks and projects. With syncing, notifications, flexibility, and a clean interface, it is simply a powerful and attractive tool. These new items may seem minimal, but updates are always welcome for an app such as this. Are there any updates you would like to see come to OmniFocus 2?
OmniFocus 2 is compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and has Apple Watch support. It is available for $39.99 on the App Store with a $19.99 in-app purchase for the Pro Upgrade which provides customization of perspectives, the home screen, and the Today Widget.
